چکیده

Abstract Exploring new alternative sources of feedstuffs can contribute to animal production sustainability in some Mediterranean regions order overcome the rising food demand. The influence dietary replacement wheat straw (WS) with orange waste silage (OWS) on nutrient intakes, apparent digestibility, ruminal fermentation and blood biochemical constituents milk dairy goats were evaluated. Forty pregnant (46.30±1.6 kg BW) housed individual pens a completely randomized design fed ( ad libitum ) TMR for 75 days period. Goats assigned four experimental diets forage amounts consisting either WS as control diet (1000 g WS/kg DM TMR), 50:50 mixture both OWS (500 500 OWS/kg an TMR) or corn positive CS/kg TMR). DMI increased linearly (P<0.01), while fiber fractions intake decreased (P<0.01) increasing diet. Ruminal pH was quadratically whereas NH 3 -N concentration total protozoa abundance acetate content (P = 0.012) by diet; linear effects observed propionate butyrate proportions amount increased. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN), non-esterified free fatty acids (NEFA) β-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) levels ascending OWS. Serum glucose, BUN, NEFA BHBA lower than those CS Milk yield efficiency quadratic 0.049) In conclusion, enhanced rumen late early lactation Barki goats.

Effects of a proteolytic feed enzyme on intake, digestion, ruminal fermentation, and milk production.

The effects of exogenous proteolytic enzyme (EPE) on intake, digestibility, ruminal fermentation, and lactational performance were determined using 8 lactating Holstein cows in a double 4 x4 Latin square experiment with a 2 x2 factorial arrangement of treatments. Diets based on barley silage and alfalfa hay as the forage sources were formulated to maintain different forage to concentrate ratios...

The effects of Lactobacillus plantarum and Propionibacterium acidipropionici on corn silage fermentation, ruminal degradability and nutrient digestibility in sheep

The chemical composition, in situ ruminal degradability coefficients of dry matter (DM), and nutrient digestibility in sheep were evaluated for corn silage (CS) treated (fresh weight basis) with different levels of a commercial bacterial inoculant (I) as follows: (1) untreated CS (control); (2) CS + I at half of the recommended level; (3) CS + I at the recommended level (3  1010 colony forming...

Methane production, digestion, ruminal fermentation, nitrogen balance, and milk production of cows fed corn silage- or barley silage-based diets.

This study evaluated the effects of replacing barley silage (BS) with corn silage (CS) in dairy cow diets on enteric CH4 emissions, ruminal fermentation characteristics, digestion, milk production, and N balance. Nine ruminally cannulated lactating cows were used in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design (32-d period) and fed (ad libitum) a total mixed ration (TMR; forage:concentrate ratio 60:4...

Effects of Fat Supplementation and Chop Length on Milk Composition and Ruminal Fermentation of Cows Fed Diets Containing Alfalfa Silage

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fat supplementation for enhancing milk conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in early lactation without affecting ruminal fermentation. 24 Holstein dairy cows were assigned to a completely randomized design employing a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement. Factors were particle size (15 and 25 mm) and two different sources of alfalfa supplemented with and wit...
